Pluto Christmas Ornament

Christmas is less than a month away! This past month or so I lost my crojo (“combination of crochet skills and enthusiasm with mojo, an intangible, magic power that includes creative inspiration” – Underground Crafter). It was not my first that happen to me, and I believe it happens quite often to creators. This was my second time that happened…last time when it happened it took me couple months to pick up my hooks. Because it was holiday season, this time it took me shorter time to recover. All these holiday spirit I’m seeing on social media (and I was somewhat away from social media as well) helped me wanna make something.

That something turned my attention to my Disney Christmas Ornament series! So next one up is Pluto!

[Free Crochet Pattern] Disney series Christmas ornament: Crochet Pluto Christmas Ornament! Check out my blog for other characters!

Compare to other characters, Pluto has fairly simple look. Body, ears, and collar. That’s it. Challenge for this one was getting the shape I want for the ears and getting straight edge for collar. Many trials and errors, I got the look I love!

Looking by itself is cute too, but putting next to his buddy Mickey looks much more adorable!

    • When I first purchased, the label didn’t indicate the size. You can purchase by individual piece 3.3 inch one at Michaels (item #10565775) or 6pc set 3.5 inch one (item #10565768)
  • US G/4mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch markers (optional)
  • Glitter (optional)
Notes:
  • You’re going to work in joined round.
  • Number in [ ] indicates number of stitches in that round.
  • The spruce explains very nicely on how to change colors!
  • Size – 83mm (about 3.25in)
  • You can put glitters if you like. It’ll look pretty with it because you can see inside the ball!
  • If you have a yarn weight #3 light, that works as well. Just make each stitch slightly bigger than you normally crochet.
