Last year was a year for me to take a break from releasing my own designs. I was bit overwhelmed from past few years of designing, and I wanted more time to make projects from other designers. I’m really glad I did, and now I’m more excited to share my new designs with you!

Inspiration
Last year in spring, I participated in spring The Hook Nook gift exchange. (read my experience HERE!) I wanted to make something that my partner can warm up but easy to carry around during her outdoor activities which she loves. From my own experience in the past outdoor activities, I thought a lap throw will be perfect. She can even bring it in the car during the cold winter season!
Choosing a color was very easy. My partner’s favorite color is blue, which is also my favorite color! There are many blues out there, but I wanted to work with 2 or 3 blues with white mixed in to make blues pop more. Let’s talk about design. I was pretty much set with design pattern. Design I had in my mind was simple and modern. I had enough time to make it, but I wanted to spend that time more to gather other gifts I was thinking of getting for her.

Beginner-Friendly Design
I introduce you Naname Lap Throw! Naname (ななめ/斜め pronounces nah-nah-meh) means diagonal/slanting in Japanese. It is worked in C2C (corner-to-corner) going in only 1 direction, which is very simple design and easy to change color! No intricate design involved, so anyone can make this in no time. It is beginner-friendly, and if you’re new to C2C, you can check out my post about how to C2C here! [Pattern designed with Stitch Fiddle]
Pin it now, crochet later!

I used Red Heart Soft, a category 4 medium weight yarn. You will need total of 4 balls to make it. Regular price is about little over $5, but Michaels and JOANN always have sale or have coupons so you can get it under $20! If you choose to use different yarn, make sure your gauge matches.

MATERIALS:
- Red Heart Soft [1 ball = 256yd/234m, 5oz/141g, category 4 – worsted weight]
- 2 balls of White
- 1 ball of Teal
- 1 ball of Turquoise

- Tapestry needle
- Stitch marker (optional)
