Cozy Crochet Twisted Headband
When I first used Bernat Pipsqueak for Hello Kitty Snood, I had hard time seeing where each stitch is. I loved the texture, but not being able to clearly see each stitch was pain in the butt. It was easy to miss the stitch, and that’s not good at all. Then I used it second time for Avery Cable Slouch Beanie. I added non-fluffy yarn, which was total game changer! It wasn’t 100% clearly visible where the stitch was, but it was definitely much easier to tell where it was. You can feel fluffy texture that the yarn gives plus having additional color!
Because stitches are not so visible, there’s one thing that I really love about this pattern. Have you made any project that works in round or finish it to make it round? When I made my first headband Eve Crochet Headband, I wish the join was not so noticeable. However, that’s almost impossible due to how construction of crochet works. Well guess what, this one looks like it’s all one continuous piece! How great is that?

Naming for the pattern
Once again, naming didn’t go as smooth as I wanted to be. I wanted to name it with a word that has a meaning “fluffy” or “soft”. I asked on Instagram what would be good name, and Gabby from The Cozy Knot Crafthouse gave me great suggestion. Her suggested word was great and it sounded cute (and funny at the same time), but it didn’t click to this design (her suggestion gave me an inspiration to new design though!) So then I went to my root, Japanese, for naming. Japanese use A LOT of onomatopoeia, and I think when you translate a word from English to Japanese, many words are onomatopoeia. I decided to describe a word “fluffy”, which is “mokomoko” or “fuwafuwa” in Japanese. It sounded too long if I used the whole word “mokomoko” so I cut down to “moko”

I hope you enjoy this project! Even though winter is almost over, you can make this for your early Christmas gift. How about stocking this one up for your next craft fair? Here’s the free pattern for Moko Twisted Headband! (You can purchase ad-free, printable PDF from the buttons below!)
